On November 4, 2019, Dr. Krongrad found himself supremely pleased with a goat meat moussaka he'd made. That moussaka capped a month-long exploration of goats and their uses. Not having Instagram, Dr. Krongrad texted the success to a friend. That's the text that launched Ezz.
In the early days, the conversation was simple, just a friend, then more, chatting about kitchens and the gifts that goats provide: meat, milk, wool, landscaping, and so on. Having just finished "The Big Fat Surprise," Dr. Krongrad also introd uced the politics of food.
The pandemic came and the topics broadened to immunity, resilience, and pharmaceutical companies. The group studied the Stockdale paradox and the effects of vitamin D. Everyone was in a funk and the group, by then named Ezz, the Hebrew word for goat, became a source of learning and support.
In its more than five initial years, Ezz remained a private group chat on WhatsApp. It held steady at 200 members, even as some of the content leaked to friends and family. The content broadened to cover the science, history, and politics of nutrition, exercise, circadian biology, agriculture, paleoanthropology, and even archaeology. It coalesced around freedom from doctors and drugs.
Ezz is today a global community of thoughtful adults motivated to reach the highest levels of performance. It shares empirical observations, original analyses, and accumulated knowledge.
